Only in hip hop, it seems, do we get the wet-behind-the-pierced-ear unwilling to grasp at the past for sumthin in their new. Jazz, R&B, & so on all have their archives raided on a reg for the futures personal absorption. But, the next in hip hop listeners act like they don't wanna know. Maybe it's cuz a style that was in hip hop reflects a time that's run its course. I guess it is 'bout the style they haven't done yet in this genre.
